Flyte Tyme’s Final Flight

Join us for Flyte Tyme Studios final flight! Former Flyte Tyme Productions (now Runway Studios) was, for 15 years, the base for producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. They produced songs for Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Sting, Boyz II Men, the Sounds of Blackness, and many more. See it now before this iconic studio is gone for good!

Janet and Michael Jackson recorded their duet “Scream” at Flyte Tyme and it’s where Janet gave her iconic shout out to Minneapolis in her hit “Escapade.”

In 1988, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis built a private recording studio called Flyte Tyme Studios where they recorded 100+ gold & platinum albums with Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Sting, Rod Stewart, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Morris Day, Lionel Richie, Boyz II Men, the Time, Human League, Usher, Nelly and many others before moving to LA in 2002.

The facility has been sold and is being demolished to make way for a new development. However, you can join us for one special evening in celebrating the history that has been made at Flyte Tyme.
