Silverwood’s Drop-In Discovery Day

In just over a week, Silverwood Park will fill with music, creativity, and discovery—and thanks to our generous FRIENDS donors, it's all completely free. We're teaming up with Silverwood's "Drop-In Discovery Day" series to bring families a one-of-a-kind afternoon where nature and music meet.
Bring the kids (and your curiosity!) on Sunday, August 9, and dive into a world of sound. They can get up close with real violins and cellos, learn how instruments are made, and even try playing one themselves. A naturalist will lead a sound walk to explore music in nature, and an art educator will help create visual art inspired by what we hear.
Watch and listen as a FRIENDS of the Minnesota Orchestra teaching artist, Amanda Breininger, narrates a musical storybook Kinder Konzert of Perfect Square by Micheal Hall including an original score by Chuck Lazarus, recorded by an ensemble of Minnesota Orchestra musicians.
Activities drop in from 1:00–3:00 PM, performance at 3:00 PM. Free, all ages, and absolutely not to be missed.
Learn more details on the Silverwood Park's website. We can't wait to see you there!
